We’re Back in the USA!

Bigger Than Life Entertainment, Inc. is back in the USA 🇺🇸 and ready to make a difference in the world of Boxing. So many promotions companies lie to boxers, telling them what there want to hear to sign them and then under deliver. Don’t help the fighter understand life and allow them to spend too big too quickly. So we have teamed up with CBS Sports Network to put on quality worldwide fights making champions from all over the world America is where we live.

The sport of boxing makes champions, but unlike the World Series in baseball, when you become a world champion… you truly are, as the MLB does not play an actual “world” series because the only play American teams, unlike the world cup of football or soccer, where teams from all over the world play with one team going out of a month long tournament, and boxing when you win the WBC, WBA, IBF or The WBO World Title you are champion of the world 🌎 and we have come up with the Making A Champ Boxing Series focus on finding the best in the world to make them champions on TV. Our first shot at doing what we said we would going to be June 6th 2020 live from Birmingham Alabama.

Please see our Upcoming Events list for more information on the new boxing series.

About E. Jay Mathews

partners-200A person filled with vision, talent and ingenuity from the streets of Detroit has fulfilled his dream of creating a successful entertainment enterprise. E. Jay Mathews’ vision began in 1980 when his best friend, Thomas “The Hit Man” Hearns, won the Welterweight Championship, defeating Pipino Cuevas, undefeated and champion for two years. That victory launched a spectacular career, as he went on to win seven world titles in six different weight classes. It also created the entertainment vision for Mathews, and 32 years later, that vision has become crystal clear.

Bigger Than Life Entertainment Corporation made its mark in the industry in the summer of 1996 with the Acapulco World Music Festival, followed later in the same year by producing the closing ceremonies of the Olympic Games in Atlanta. In the winter of 1996 BTLE produced the first ever Gospel Celebration on Pay Per View Television. The event was held at the Rialto Theatre, Atlanta GA.

In July 1997, the vision of Mathews became clearer. Mathews witnessed the bitter divisions between Hip-Hop Stars “East Coast vs. West Coast.” Talented young black men were being gunned down on the streets of Las Vegas and Los Angeles. Mathews, in an effort to do something to highlight the lives of two major Hip-Hop Stars, Biggie Smalls and Tupac Shakur, utilized BTLE to fuse the talent of the east and the west, the result was The Peace Fest “97” on Pay per View Television. East Coast Rappers performed at the World Famous Apollo Theatre, while on the West Coat, Rappers performed at the Bob Hope Center, Palm Springs, CA. “When it’s said and done, it’s all about entertainment,” Mathews says. “There are very talented MC’s throughout our great America,” Mathews continues, “in our great country, any person can express themselves. Self-expression is a wonderful thing, and we must respect each other.” The feud was real, and because of “Peace Fest 97”, rappers can now tour the country without fear.

In Mathews continued quest to keep Peace and Love alive among the Hip-Hop Generation, Mathews wrote and produced “Making It, An Urban Love Story” stage play. The production debuted in January 1999 at the Music Hall, Detroit, later at the Wilshire Theatre, Los Angeles, The Cashman Field Theatre, Las Vegas, and at the Sager Theatre, New Orleans.

E. Jay has traveled throughout the world, encountering numerous celebrities including all recent U.S. Presidents: Carter, Reagan, George H.W. Bush, Clinton, and Obama. Also, Don King, Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson, Butch Lewis, Denzel Washington, Randall Cunningham, Eric Dickerson, Magic Johnson, Joe and Gavin Maloof, owners of the NBA Sacramento Kings and the world-famous Palms Resort & Casino, and Harry Belafonte.

BTLE is a full service entertainment company specializing in Concert Promotion, Public Relations, and Artist Management. We place our Sports and Entertainment celebrities at major events worldwide. Mathews has plans to bring his stage play “Making It, An Urban Love Story” back to the forefront, perhaps on Broadway. The Vision of E. Jay Mathews has become a reality as he leads Birger Than Life Entertainment through the next Century. Stay Tuned!
